Haiti Will Prevail!

Change your Facebook page to Haiti's flag for at least a week. It is a small gesture, but think about Sept. 11 when everyone raised high the flag of the United States.
Invite your friends to join me on here and Facebook. Let's see how quickly can we reach 10,000 people. The main purpose of this event is for long-term help. I'll let you guys know what I am doing and how can you help. I am planning on going to Haiti as soon. I want to document with my camera everything that is going. We need your prayers as much as we need funding. Please post videos and pictures on here for everyone to see as you see them happening. I will keep you posted on how we can all help as I am more informed. Please be careful DO NOT SENT ANY MONEY to groups that you do not know. Earthquake In Haiti

CNN) -- A major earthquake struck just off the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, sparking a tsunami watch for parts of the Caribbean, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Raymond Joseph, Haiti's ambassador to the United States, told CNN he had little information about the extent of damage from the quake, which had a reported magnitude of 7.0. But he said the suffering inflicted on the impoverished Caribbean nation was likely to be "catastrophic."

"The only thing I can do now is pray and hope for the best," he said.

Joseph said one government official -- the only one he was able to reach -- told him houses had crumbled "on the right side of the street and the left side of the street."

The Associated Press reported that a hospital had collapsed.

The quake had a reported magnitude of 7.0 and was centered about 10 miles (16 km) off the coast and about 6 miles (10 km) underground, according to the USGS. Are you there? Submit an iReport

A tsunami watch was posted for Haiti and parts of Cuba, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas, but historical data suggests a destructive, widespread tsunami was not a threat, the USGS reported.

The quake could be felt strongly in the eastern Cuban city of Santiago, about 250 miles west of Port-au-Prince.

"It was very strong. It lasted for almost a minute," said Marlon Romaguera, who runs a bed-and-breakfast there.

Mr. & Mrs. Reimers love story

When I was asked to write a love story I wondered, were do I begin? I mean there are so many things to say but not enough paper to print it on. But since I have to write something I might as well start from the beginning. My finance and I first met at the Philadelphia airport on May 2^nd of 2004. Now before I met her I did not believe in love at first sight but all of that changed that day. We were introduced by her brother who at the time was my supervisor. Now the funny thing is when I met her brother my first day of work I thought he was Puertorican. Now I know you must be wondering why I brought that up? well its like this, I am a Haitian and was taught by my father to hate Dominican people so naturally I would not have become friends with her brother had I known.

As time went on he and I became good friends which eventually led to meeting his sister. When I met his sister it was like, “wow! who is this beautiful woman and how can I become her friend”. When he introduced me I was filled with joy hoping that one day I might have the courage to ask her out on a date. It was not long before we became good friends and talked all the time. Things were going well until a friend of mine made a random comment about them being Dominicans and how he thought it was weird that I liked them. I stood there like a deer caught in a truck’s head lights wondering if it is going to get hit. I asked myself, how is it that I did not know? Then it hit me, why did I hold on to the prejudice all these years? My father was wrong and I was wrong for holding on to his lies. I loved her and nothing could change that but finding the guts to tell her would take weeks.

It was now may the 18^th and she had just come to get me at the hospital after being hurt at work. When she walked in it was as if an angle walked out of heaven coming to comfort me. It was at that moment I knew I could not fight my feelings for her. So as we drove home we talk then parked to look at the stars and that night we had our first kiss. It was one those movie kisses, time slowed, flowers bloomed, and I knew I had found the one that was made to complete me. I wish I could say from that day forward we lived happily ever but that was far from it. It was hard at first since both sides of our families did not approve, But I remembered when I was a little boy my grandmother would always say, “son I will always be around for you to keep you safe and happy so when it comes time to find love make sure the woman you are with helps you change and become a better person”.

I never quite understood what my grandmother meant until I proposed to my fiancée. She has helped me grow and change in many ways. The relationship has allowed me to remove the hate I had for Dominicans people and love and respect them just as my own people, but most importantly it has taught me to fight for what your heart believes in. I had to fight for our love and even cut ties to some family members but in the long run the love we have for each other has overcome.

Four years have passed since our first kiss; we are now ready to commit to one another as husband and wife. I wanted the blessing of her family as well as my own so on April 13^th of 2008 in the presence of our families I asked her to become my wife. I look forward to continuing the magic, and the beauty that comes from being in love with an angel.

Rain? What rain? The love from this couple shined on despite the dreary condition of their wedding day. After 6 years of courtship, Heather and Brandon made May 8, 2009, their day of celebration. Heather was always camera ready, Brandon was much more shy. However, the pictures speak for themselves - what a beautiful couple in love!

Barely able to speak the English language, having moved from Puertorico not too many years prior, Angel DeJesus met the love of his life in a Warner Lambert factory in Litiz, Pa. Elsie was a widower and Angel a single parent of seven children. Once Angel got enough courage to ask her out, "you go with me?" in his best English, Elsie was smitten by the dashing Puertorican! Ever since, Pastor Angel and Elsie have been married and inseparable in life, ministry, and in love for the past forty years.

Act I Scene I, Kristen and Clement

They met through Messiah College’s match making program also known as First Year Seminar. Clement’s overly aggressive behavior eventually let Kristen to know his interest. At this time, it was around finals week which meant it was hardly the time to start a relationship. After a month of courting during J-term at Messiah College, Kristen finally agreed to go out with Clement February 10, 2006. Clement proposed to Kristen during a stormy sunrise on the jetty near Clement’s house October 11, 2007.
